Please can you:
– Confirm our understanding that an Indonesian citizen who is not resident in Indonesia, but lives/works permanently in overseas for more than 10 years, does not need to register for tax purposes in Indonesia.
– Advise how this non-resident Indonesian, who lives/works permanently in overseas, can find buyers to sell any small house/land/property in Indonesia he may have acquired (in the past, more than 11 years ago, while living/working in Indonesia then) in the easiest way possible, without problems, in terms of practical convenience/procedures and any tax consequences.
– Is it true that there is only a 5% tax on the sales price of the property in Indonesia payable upon sale in Indonesia? No other taxes, costs or consequences?
Please state the relevant legislation in each case if possible.
Looking forward to your response with many thanks in advance.
